Peter Cenedella is a writer and editor with experience both in the non-profit sector and as a private consultant.
He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Integral, which explores the topic of racial integration from a variety of perspectives -- academic, activist, and participant. He has worked with UNICEF as an editorial consultant, where he created and launched Catalyst for Education and Gender Equality as a platform for scholars and practitioners to share resources and best practices on the subject of education in the developing world. He was a co-founding editor of HERE magazine, an Utne Reader Small Press Award-nominated original publication focused on the politics of place. He is also a blogger on political subjects for Huffington Post, and on cultural politics at his own blog sites (which are currently being revamped for a Summer 2009 launch).
In the 1990s, Mr. Cenedella was marketing director of Cinemuse, a high-tech startup that brought top-quality original arts and education programming to children’s museums and community centers nationwide; and he worked with the Panos Institute to help formulate a multidisciplinary curriculum on the HIV/AIDS pandemic. As associate director of the Interfaith Hunger Appeal’s education initiative, he spent the early 1990s writing curriculum development materials for college professors on the theme of global poverty and inequality; and he was co-editor of Teaching Global Development: A Curriculum Guide for Undergraduate Educators.
Mr. Cenedella is a former Excellence Fellow for the study of American History at Rutgers University, and he has taught American History, Politics of the Developing World, and English Writing and Composition. |
